FACEBOOK POST GUIDE JUNE 2016 (SUBJECT TO FACEBOOK UPDATES)
Here’s our quick content guide for creating promo posts for Facebook. From the Prime Eight Digital Team x
All dimensions are in pixels (Width x Height).
HOW TO SAVE FOR BEST QUALITY
Save as either .jpg in sRGB or PNG-24 format to reduce noise, not the images.
PAGE POSTS (aka Photo Posts, aka Image Tiles)
2048px x 2048px or
2048px x 1536px
And anything in-between. This goes for Gif images too.
Longer images can work well on mobile, but will get cropped on desktop (see below).

LINK IMAGES ( for clicking right through to a website)
2048px x 1072px (example below)
Link images and link ads say the most consistent size on mobile and desktop.
As well as being more likely to get shown within articles on the Facebook audience network
Square videos are working well on Facebook mobile & desktop currently (example below) as they occupy more visual space on the newsfeed. The usual aspect ratio (normally 1920px x 1080px), however, works well too.
Keep the video dimensions in mind if you want to make a thumbnail for the video (a replacement image that will display as default on the newsfeed in the video window before it plays, instead of a still of the video). A thumbnail can be uploaded separately and needs to exactly match the video dimensions.
